Wembley, the home of football and venue of legends, renowned the world over is being transformed into a 21st century destination. Millions of pounds worth of investment from the public and private sectors has gone into regenerating this opportunity area of the West London sub-region.
The redevelopment of Wembley Stadium has been a major catalyst in the regeneration of the wider Wembley area. The three stations serving Wembley Stadium are being modernised into 21st century public transport infrastructures. The Whitehorse Bridge at Wembley Stadium Station will eventually link Wembley Stadium to the town centre.
Significant public investment has made new road construction, widening of existing roads and pavement renewal possible. Road schemes are in place to ensure that there is business as usual on event days. The Walking project is about improving pedestrian environment in the town centre, ensuring that pedestrians enjoy their walk from Wembley Central to the stadium.  Wembley is also witnessing resurgence in its retail, leisure and housing offer through the £1 billion Quintain development on 42 acres of land around the stadium and St Modwen’s £30 million redevelopment of Wembley Central Square. The Elm Road and Copland School redevelopments will further bolster this revival. A final piece to the jigsaw will be the redevelopment of Wembley West End, creating a better connection to the specialist Asian Jewellery Quarter in Ealing Road and the Wembley Triangle redevelopment, linking the town centre to the Stadium and beyond.
The emerging café quarter of the town centre, which is supported by policies to attract more restaurants and bars, will add to the diverse array of establishments already on offer in Wembley.
