Cotton bags printed with the new logo for Wembley Central will be distributed to businesses in the new year as part of the Bag Free initiative implemented by the Wembley Town Centre Partnership.
The overarching aim of the Bag Free initiative is to reduce the amount of plastic bags used in the town centre, which ultimately end up in the waste stream.
Plastics are bad for the environment as they draw on the world’s oil reserves and are dyed and printed with inks containing harmful chemicals.
The Wembley Bag Free initiative will be implemented in a measured manner, adopting a ‘mixed’ model, involving a combination of ‘bag for life’, paper based bags and other methods, giving business the freedom to choose which method best suits their needs.
Please contact Osita Udenson, Wembley Town Centre Manager, on 020 8937 5064 to register your interest should you wish to participate. |
