Greener business brings cost savings and a sustainable future. All business activity inevitably impacts on the environment, just as the environment and environmental changes impact on business.
Businesses are now faced with increased energy and fuel costs, higher insurance premiums due to climate change related issues, increasing environmental legislation to comply with, increasing customer/client awareness and demands in regard to environmental factors and increasing demand for environmental credentials in order to remain competitive.
This often means a lot of juggling, and dealing with this variety of issues is often overwhelming. Brent Council is looking to set up a sustainable business advice service to help businesses through the process of greening up their activities, for instance, by offering eco audits, training for staff on how to reduce waste & energy use, and helping business identify funding for environmental improvements.
This service will offer businesses the opportunity to make significant cost savings, gain better publicity, bring benefits to the employers and employees whilst contributing to better the environment and the local community.
