Brent Council’s Vision is to transform Wembley into a regional, national and international leisure destination that is enjoyed by local residents, businesses and people from around the globe. The Vision aims to ensure that the regeneration encompasses the whole of the area.As well as providing a world-class new stadium, Wembley will become a place where high-quality architecture sits side by side with education, sport, retail, leisure facilities and unrivalled community amenities. The new Wembley, with its iconic arch, will open shortly. It will transform the local landscape and will bring approximately 2.5 million new visitors each year to Wembley with an annual spend of £229 million. The Vision is unashamedly bold and ambitious and requires a partnership of both the public and private sectors to deliver it. The strong partnership Brent Council has put together to deliver the vision is exemplary. The Mayor’s office, through the London Development Agency (LDA) and Transport for London, has been integral in the regeneration of Wembley.They have provided the funding necessary to transform Wembley’s transport infrastructure. Other major partners delivering the vision’s leisure, entertainment, retail, commercial, cultural and housing aspects include Quintain Estates, St. Modwen, Octavia, Ujima and Genesis Housing Associations.These developments are helping to achieve of our vision of turning Wembley into a 21st century destination.
